Do you compromise comfort over style? When I was in my twenties I did compromise comfort over my high pair of heels. As I grow older and wiser, my style and thoughts about what fashion means to me has evolved. My style has always been relaxed and fairly casual and now that I am a mum of two, I want my outfits to be easy. That’s why today’s topic is about making your everyday khaki trousers look glamorous.
I bought this super comfy, wide-leg khaki trouser from one of my favourite high street brands, Warehouse. What I love about it are the wide and deep pockets on both sides. They come in handy to keep your phone and other bits while on the run. And because they are deep and wide, they keep your belongings safe (I know the pain of fitting your phone in your tight jeans pocket).
I have been wearing these trousers a lot lately but then I had a chance to make them look a bit glam. By pairing a silk lace earthy colour top, you can add a lot of elegance to these casual khaki trousers. Pair them with kitten heels and you are good to go. I am loving my new snake effect kitten heels from Next. They are super versatile and go with a lot of different looks. When you are not in the mood to carry your high heels, these super cute kitten heels do the job brilliantly
This look can take you from work to after-work dinner. Simply change your top. Wear a crisp white shirt for work and swap it with a delicate satin top or camisole for a glam look.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post. In the coming weeks I’ll share more about packing for my holiday wardrobe so stay tuned.
As a Londoner, I eagerly wait for the summer months when I can get rid of my heavy coats and jackets. Who doesn’t love the Great British Summer! It is the best time to be in London and explore the city to its fullest. London has so much to offer and even after living here for more than 10 years, I haven’t been able to explore it fully.
Summer calls for your new summer wardrobe, so today on the blog I am sharing my favourite summer tops of all times. This blue embroidered top is from Next and I am planning to spend my entire summer in it. I have styled this top in many different ways and I can’t get enough of it. I wear this top to work, I wear to school drop offs, I will wear it on my holiday…. I wear it everywhere. I have never been so excited about any other top than this one. I love the material – 100% cotton, the embroidery on the sleeves, the tassels string at the neck… What’s not to love about this top? It also comes in red colour. You can shop the top here.
I styled the top with my ripped Zara jeans, black jollychic sandals and my favourite Charles Keith bag. You can wear this top with denim shorts or even dungarees for a more relaxed look.
I recently did a post on embroidered summer tops and this one was up on my list. If you didn’t get a chance to catch that post then read it here. Here are some more summer top ideas for you all.
What are you guys wearing this summer? What would be your favourite go to style? Do share your summer wardrobe with me here.
Today’s post is a special one as I have teamed up with a fellow like-minded blogger, Ameeta Mohata, from ayewanderful.com. Ameeta and I met at a blogging event where we shared our love for blogging. Like me, Ameeta also holds a full time job in the IT industry but does blogging to fulfill her creative aspirations. She writes a travel and lifestyle blog where she shares her passion for travel and discovering new places. While her blog focuses on travel and lifestyle and mine is about fashion/style, we both thought that by collaborating on a ‘Look and Location’ #looksandlocations series we will bring something unique to our readers. So finally we are ready with our very first “Looks and Location’ post.
Our first find is this cute little Parisian tea room near Bank Station called Laduree. Laduree is an ideal place to meet up for a quick coffee catch up after work. Best known for its macarons, Laduree is a French pastry/tea room place. There are a few branches dotted around London and I have heard that the Harrods branch is a must visit. The Bank branch is open till 8 pm, making it a perfect place for a quick catch up after work. Coffee shops do tend to close a bit early as most people prefer to go out for drinks after work. But if you are someone like me who prefers a coffee over drinks, then Laduree is a good option.
Laduree offers a range of macaron flavours, from coffee to raspberry to rose and more. I absolutely loved their macarons. I am not much of a macaron fan as I find them very sweet but these ones just melted in my mouth and weren’t too sweet.
Now let’s focus on our looks. I wore this printed summer dress from H&M. The dress is sleeveless so to make it more work appropriate, I teamed it up with a white crop top. I work in digital design, a creative industry. We have a casual dress code at work which gives me the flexibility to experiment with my looks. But casual dress code still needs to be work appropriate. This print dress seemed to be a decent choice to wear at work as well as for a quick coffee meetup. My accessories were very minimal – just my watch and ring. Ameeta also kept her look fairly relaxed. She wore a cute flower print skirt and teamed it up with a black top. She chose to accessorise it with a gold necklace from New Look. Both our looks had one common theme which was flower prints, making it appropriate for spring/summer.

Finally, it’s time to curate our summer wardrobe. Summer styling is fun because it is effortless and relaxed. But the thought of where to start can be overwhelming. One essential summer style is embroidered tops. Embroidered tops is one style that never goes out of trend. So today on the blog I will be sharing some stylish tops from high street shops to help you curate your summer wardrobe. Embroidered tops create a very relaxed boho look. It is also an essential item for your holiday suitcase.
As you can make out from my blog, I am a sucker for good high street finds. British high street is known for championing fashion trends and it is has become very easy for us to get hold of key seasonal pieces. While I do not always follow all seasonal trends. I do surrender to a few. So let’s have a look at some key pieces online.
Topshop Poplin Embroidered Puff Sleeve Top
Summer is all about fresh looks and this top is no exception. It is very pretty and 100% cotton. Shop this top here
Blue Embroidered Sleeve Bardot Neck Top
This sweet number from New Look is ideal for your holiday suitcase. Wear it with cropped jeans or shorts and tan mules to complete the look. Shop the top here
Zara is good place to find embroidered tops on the high street. I love this cream dotted mesh blouse. Pair it with khaki trousers for an office look or cropped jeans for a more casual look.
Absolutely love this embroidered long sleeve blue top from Next. Again it is 100% cotton and I think I can live in it for the entire summer.
I am tempted by so many new options now. What do you regularly wear during summer? I love a good summer top, cropped jeans and classic mules. Here are some more suggestions from the online world.
As always, I would love to hear your thoughts. Till then, stay stylish.
Your style is an expression of your personality. You can choose to be bold, edgy, creative and a lot more just by choosing how you dress. When it comes to glam dressing or evening looks, I find most women struggle to find what to wear. Given our lifestyles, we mums find going-out dressing an effort. Today on the blog I intend to take the effort out from evening wear so that the next time you open your wardrobe, you don’t keep on staring at the enormous collection of clothes.
For a glam evening, I suggest you try some interesting options now available on the high street.
Feeling great in your outfit makes your evening even more special. Here are some new dresses to try on this season.
Trade in your LBD to a glam jumpsuit this season. Wear it with high heels and you are ready to go.
If you are celebrating, then might as well celebrate in style. Shop some stylish skirt options online.
This is what I wore on my birthday and to another event. I simply love this satin grey wrap round skirt from ASOS. It is so versatile and can be styled in various ways. I teamed it up with an earthy brown tone feminine top again from ASOS. The outfit is very muted in colour but the satin/silk fabric texture makes it apt for evening events. For another event, I reused the same top but this time with a metallic gold pleated skirt. I believe that evening wear doesn’t require you to bear flesh. You can still create glam looks without much skin show.

What do you think of the above high street finds? Would you wear them. I would love to hear your feedback. Till then stay stylish…
In the beginning of the year, I said that I will try and share more about my Indian wardrobe on this blog. So today I am sharing some beautiful stuff from two lovely brands. My jewellery is courtesy Style Savita and outfit is by Jyoti Chandhok.
Style Savita is an online boutique for exclusive and affordable handmade Indian jewellery and accessories. Browse StyleSavita.com to find Indian jewellery and accessories for brides, weddings, celebrations and special occasions from necklace sets, earrings, rings, bangles, handbags to maang tikka and matha patti hair accessories.
For all my lovely readers, I have collaborated with Style Savita to get 5% off their site. Use the code Mandavi5 to get 5% your purchase.
Now let’s talk about the look. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you would know how much I love Jyoti’s work and this garara is no exception.
Gararas have an old-world charm to them. But I really like the way Jyoti has adopted the design to suit our contemporary lifestyle. The outfit is delicate and with a lightweight finish in soft fabric – perfect for dancing parties where you do not want to be restricted by a heavy outfit. It’s well-tailored and finely-finished with a gold rose pattern sparkle design on the garara. The dupatta comes with a border and a pinch mukaish work all over.
Gararas are slightly different from shararas. They are fitted on the leg and flare out from the knee. While sharars are wide leg and loose with lots of pleats.
The jewellery complemented the simple garara top. Thanks to my friends at Style Savita for sending this intricate Kundan set over. I styled my outfit with this gorgeous meenakari green enamel kundan set from Style Savita. This kundan and pearl necklace comes with a pair of matching kundan earrings to complete the set. The beautiful detailed and intricate coloured meenakari enamel work can be found on the front and back of the jewellery. Thanks Style Savita for this jewellery love.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post. If you would like to see more Indian looks on the blog then do let me know. Till then stay tuned.
If you are looking for something unique for your next festive party, then look no further. Today on the blog we have a lovely collaboration with Palanquine by Sandhya Shah. Palanquine is a designer fashion brand based in Mumbai and they now have a base in London too. The brand does a range of trendy, indo-western styles along with a traditional ethnic collection. The one I am wearing today is a very fresh sky blue coloured embroidered kurta and palazzo set. This look is apt for summer wedding events or festive parties. The kurta is heavily embroidered and the palazzo is lightweight. It comes with a net dupatta with some gotta patti work.
The outfit is a slightly dressier version of the normal palazzo suit but it has a glam factor. If you want to dress up and choose something different for your traditional wardrobe, then go for this palazzo set. The sky blue colour looks pretty and makes the dusty gold zari work shine. I also like the work on the palazzo much better than wearing plain trousers. With this kind of an outfit you do not need to accessorise much – I just wore some pearl drop earrings from Jewellery by Divya Chugh which complimented my look.
‘Palanquine’ is an ethnic designer wear company which has been manufacturing & marketing its products since 1990. Sandhya Shah designer cum founder is committed to keeping ‘Palanquine” as a high profile, trendy, exclusive and top quality ethnic brand of ethnic wear for the modern woman and the range comprises Salwar Kameezes, Ghagra Cholis, and Sarees & Blouses. The urge to
grow, further initiated the company to expand its range to Indo Western outfits for evening wear such as Evening Gowns, Skirts, Dresses, Shirts, Corsets & Tunics. The range covers casual wear, festive wear and bridal wear. So one can adorn the wardrobe from ‘Palanquine’ for being trendily dressed from Morning to Night.
Hello lovely people. Happy New Year ! Welcome to 2017. Hope you all had a wonderful start to the year and managed to set new goals. I also made a new year resolution and plan to follow it through. My new year resolution is to be The Best Version of Myself. Yes it’s simple, isn’t it?
I know it is not always easy to be the best version of oneself when all I want to do is hide under my duvet all day. This is one of the most important questions I can ask myself: ‘How can I be the best version of myself in 2017?’. Mind you, when I say ‘being the best version of myself’, I do not mean comparing myself with others. My only competition is the reflection in my mirror. One thing I like about entering into the new year is the opportunity to reset the system and focus on what’s important. This new year, I would like to connect with myself at a deeper level and be with the individual I am. It’s time to step up my game in 2017 and have a blast.
So starting on this positive note, I have a very fresh winter look on the blog. My look on the blog today celebrates winter and start of 2017. The camel coat I am wearing here is from NEXT which I bought last year. I love the colour of this coat and the fit is very structured. Camel coat is a classic. It comes back every year. It is very versatile, you can wear it to work and also on the weekend. To create a weekend look just pair it up with a jumper, knee ripped jeans and trainers.
I wore it with a pastel brown jumper and blue jeans. I have been wearing this look to work. The styling is very simple as it follows a very neutral palette. If you would like to enrich your winter coat collection with a classic camel-hued coat then shop some of my favourites here
Hope you guys enjoyed watching the video above. I loved the egg and honey shampoo from Vatika. It’s specially good for the winter months. Egg is a natural conditioner and does wonders to your hair. I can definitely feel a difference in my hair texture after using the egg shampoo. Also the egg hair mask was a great conditioning product and made my hair all smooth. If you want to try any of products mentioned in the video then follow this link.
After styling my hair I did this metallic festive look. I am in love with this metallic gold skirt from Oasis. It is definitely an investment piece for my wardrobe. There are so many ways I can style this skirt for various occasions. For this particular look, I have adopted a cosy style. Wearing this metallic skirt with a high neck jumper makes this outfit perfectly apt for a Christmas lunch date.
I love wearing knitwear over skirts. It looks very trendy and gives an edge to your outfit.
So this is my last look for 2016. I will be sharing a lot more in 2017, especially my Indian wardrobe. Thank you all for being such a big part of my blog journey. I hope to see you all very soon in the new year.
Ladies and Gentlemen, get ready for the freezing winters ahead! The mercury has been plummeting to sub zero temperatures lately. Dressing up to repel the chill and still look your best can be a struggle, when all you want to do is to stay in bed. Winters do call for festive outdoor Christmas fairs and markets. So get some cosy comfort to your winter wardrobe and get ready to brave the chill in style.
Todays’ post is all about how to dress warm and still look good. The outfit I am sporting today is super comfy and everyday winter style; something you can sport at Christmas, markets, walk in the woods, school pick up and more. The real winner of this look is the extremely warm quilted coat from Mango . This coat has become my trusted companion to brave the cold this season. To me it feels like a wearable duvet, perfect for my early, dark mornings. Wearing this coat on its own would be boring so I teamed it up with some complementary layers like a cosy grey knitwear from H&M and red plaid scarf from Gap.
Try moving away from all black/grey looks by adding striking accessories like a bright patterned scarf. This is a very laid back and relaxed look for your winter wardrobe. I added some more warmth by wearing these ever so comfortable knee high boots from M&S. These are one of the most comfortable knee high shoes I have very owned. I don’t even feel like talking them off – super snug and extremely comfortable to wear. The cutest bit of this look is my pom-pom beanie from Asos. Pom-pom beanies have a been a craze this season. They are a cute alternative to hats. Style Tip : Wear the hat slightly back to show of your fringe.
The trick to winter wear is in styling your main coat/jacket. Padded jackets have flooded the catwalk and the high street. It is a major trend this season. So wrap yourself in a gorgeous duvet like jacket and enjoy the festive outdoor atmosphere in style.
