Today’s post is a special one as I have teamed up with a fellow like-minded blogger, Ameeta Mohata, from ayewanderful.com. Ameeta and I met at a blogging event where we shared our love for blogging. Like me, Ameeta also holds a full time job in the IT industry but does blogging to fulfill her creative aspirations. She writes a travel and lifestyle blog where she shares her passion for travel and discovering new places. While her blog focuses on travel and lifestyle and mine is about fashion/style, we both thought that by collaborating on a ‘Look and Location’ #looksandlocations series we will bring something unique to our readers. So finally we are ready with our very first “Looks and Location’ post.

Our first find is this cute little Parisian tea room near Bank Station called Laduree. Laduree is an ideal place to meet up for a quick coffee catch up after work. Best known for its macarons, Laduree is a French pastry/tea room place. There are a few branches dotted around London and I have heard that the Harrods branch is a must visit. The Bank branch is open till 8 pm, making it a perfect place for a quick catch up after work. Coffee shops do tend to close a bit early as most people prefer to go out for drinks after work. But if you are someone like me who prefers a coffee over drinks, then Laduree is a good option.

Laduree offers a range of macaron flavours, from coffee to raspberry to rose and more. I absolutely loved their macarons. I am not much of a macaron fan as I find them very sweet but these ones just melted in my mouth and weren’t too sweet.

Now let’s focus on our looks. I wore this printed summer dress from H&M. The dress is sleeveless so to make it more work appropriate, I teamed it up with a white crop top. I work in digital design, a creative industry. We have a casual dress code at work which gives me the flexibility to experiment with my looks. But casual dress code still needs to be work appropriate. This print dress seemed to be a decent choice to wear at work as well as for a quick coffee meetup. My accessories were very minimal – just my watch and ring. Ameeta also kept her look fairly relaxed. She wore a cute flower print skirt and teamed it up with a black top. She chose to accessorise it with a gold necklace from New Look. Both our looks had one common theme which was flower prints, making it appropriate for spring/summer.

Stay warm and look good

Ladies and Gentlemen, get ready for the freezing winters ahead! The mercury has been plummeting to sub zero temperatures lately. Dressing up to repel the chill and still look your best can be a struggle, when all you want to do is to stay in bed. Winters do call for festive outdoor Christmas fairs and markets. So get some cosy comfort to your winter wardrobe and get ready to brave the chill in style.

Todays’ post is all about how to dress warm and still look good. The outfit I am sporting today is super comfy and everyday winter style; something you can sport at Christmas, markets, walk in the woods, school pick up and more. The real winner of this look is the extremely warm quilted coat from Mango . This coat has become my trusted companion to brave the cold this season. To me it feels like a wearable duvet, perfect for my early, dark mornings. Wearing this coat on its own would be boring so I teamed it up with some complementary layers like a cosy grey knitwear from H&M and red plaid scarf from Gap.

Try moving away from all black/grey looks by adding striking accessories like a bright patterned scarf. This is a very laid back and relaxed look for your winter wardrobe. I added some more warmth by wearing these ever so comfortable knee high boots from M&S. These are one of the most comfortable knee high shoes I have very owned. I don’t even feel like talking them off – super snug and extremely comfortable to wear. The cutest bit of this look is my pom-pom beanie from Asos. Pom-pom beanies have a been a craze this season. They are a cute alternative to hats. Style Tip : Wear the hat slightly back to show of your fringe.

The trick to winter wear is in styling your main coat/jacket.  Padded jackets have flooded the catwalk and the high street. It is a major trend this season. So wrap yourself in a gorgeous duvet like jacket and enjoy the festive outdoor atmosphere in style.

One skirt two looks

There is a lot of excitement behind newly purchased pieces of clothing. But soon after a couple of wears, the excitement dies. Don’t know about you, but I get easily bored by wearing the same outfit again. It is not realistic to buy a whole new wardrobe every month, but to go easy on your pocket, you can create different looks just by changing a few things.

The outfit I am sharing today clearly demonstrates the wardrobe reusability concept. I wore this cute grey tu tu dress on my birthday and reused it on my holiday too. For the holiday look, I paired it up with a tribal beaded necklace from Zara and metallic sandals from F&F. Both are evening looks but look very different from each other. Also, changing your lip colour makes a big difference to your outfit. For the holiday look I wore a deep red lippy which creates a contrast with the grey/black tones. In the other look the pink lip creates a party vibe.

Have you tried creating different looks using the same outfit? If not, then try it and keep experimenting.

Birthday Tulle Skirt

DSCF3888 DSCF3890 DSCF3892 DSCF3895

Thought today I’ll share my spring birthday outfit with you all. Being a mum sometimes makes you go for very practical outfit choices. But since it was my birthday and I was celebrating it with my  girls, I decided to choose something fun and flirty. For my birthday I wore this 50s style midi skirt, layered with sheer tulle in grey. This grey midi skirt is part of the BOOHOO BOUTIQUE collection which stocks some premium limited edition pieces. Do check their new range online which features exclusives pieces for this season. The skirt is gorgeous and I chose the grey colour option to keep my look a bit understated. For my top I chose this super soft bodysuit in black, again from Boohoo. I can’t tell how how comfortable this bodysuit was. Since it was a bodysuit, it fitted me perfectly. I totally recommend bodysuits if you need a well fitted top for an outfit. A special  mention to my lovely shoes which I bought on H&M and how well they complimented my look. I was in awe of these shoes when I first discovered them. These are mid heels which I absolutely love and perfect for both day and night looks. Did not accessorise much and let my clothes do all the talking.

Here is a video of my outfit in motion.

London Bollywood Boat Party

I have lived in London for over 10 years now but never got the chance to be on a boat party. So this time when a friend was organising the most popular Bollywood boat party, I didn’t want to miss the opportunity. Thanks to Party Protocol, we got to relish some foot-stomping Bollywood music in the backdrop of our beautiful London city. Our journey started from Temple Pier and the boat took us around all the major London landmarks situated along Thames. The iconic Chelsea bridge was a special treat to the eyes. I don’t know know about you but I find water very therapeutic. I gives me a sense of calm. I can just sit and gaze flowing water forever. This concoction  of music, water, friends and London city refreshed my soul for good. If you like Bollywood music then I totally recommend Party Protocol boat parties.

I thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience and made some wonderful memories. Sharing my Bollywood boat party photo diary on the blog today. Hope you enjoy it.

So I had a long gap on my blog. Some of you asked me why I wasn’t so active with my outfit posts. Well, there have been a few changes in my personal life and I found everything a bit overwhelming to deal with, and went into hibernation for a bit. Today’s blog is all about sharing my big story with you all and accepting the fact that one can look good pregnant. Yes you guessed it! We are expecting a new addition to our family. London Fashion Week SS15 Diary

Five days full of fashion madness have finally come to an end. Another year and another fun fashion week is over. One of the most stylish cities in the world hosted London Fashion Week SS15 to showcase a range of design talent from across the globe. From the big fashion houses to discovering new talent, London Fashion Week had it all. Attending Fashion Week fills me with excitement as a fashion enthusiast, and I love this buzz. I spent day one discover some new talent and attending some brilliant fashion shows. Here is a list of shows I experienced on Day 1.

JAMIE WEI HUANG

Jamie’s SS15 collection is inspired on a basic idea of the human existence within urban society. SS15 collection takes the fundamentals of a variety of sporting uniform and equipment varying from bicycle bags, skiwear and basketball shorts. A fascinating contrast when combined with elements that are inspired from industry professions such as the ‘London banker’ Here a are few of my favourite pieces from the collection.

Beach Holiday Outfit Ideas

Beach holidays are ever so refreshing. I get a sense of calmness just by looking at the blue water. I love beach holiday, actually who doesn’t. I need it at least once a year to get me going. This year I had an opportunity to explore some hidden and quiet beaches along the coast of southern Italy in Puglia.

When it comes to beach dressing it has to be effortless and fuss free. Something that can be multi-purpose: both a cover up and an outfit. Today I share two outfits with you that are ideal for spending an afternoon/evening stroll on the beach.

Shorts in the city

Great British summer is spreading its wings over London and it’s now time to make the most of it. I personally think summer is the best time to be in London. For most it’s the holiday season but if you truly want to make the most of London and British summer then stay put. This is the time to enjoy after office drinks, lazy summer picnics and just a glass of red wine in your backyard.Say goodbye to heavy layers and infuse some freshness to your light summer wardrobe.
