Christmas 2017 decor updates

December is here and festive time has started. I have heard that we are expecting a white Christmas this year in London. From what I know, this has only happened four times in the last 51 years! So I am praying for a white Christmas. Just thinking about being home and watching the snow fall makes me feel all loved up. Like every year, I make an effort to decorate the house and welcome the snuggly festive season. This year I haven’t managed to do much- just a few decorative setups to make the house look Christmassy.

Decor 1 – Golden sparkly pine cones display.

This is a very simple decor idea and kid-friendly too. To create this setupp

Decor 2 – Small Christmas Tree Set up

If you’re fed up of picking out pine needles from your floor after the festive season, then Christmas tree in a pot is worth considering. I bought mine from our local florist. I personally do not like artificial Christmas trees and have always bought real ones. This year I wanted to try a compact option and create a mini Christmas set up. After personally trying both big and small Christmas trees, I would advise to set up a big tree to get a grand look and potted tree for a mini, hassle-free decor.

Table Decor

This year I plan to decorate my table with red and gold Christmas theme. Both are very rich colours and create a royal look. Everyone has their unique way of decorating and this is my take on table setup. On actual Christmas day, I will add more candles and use Christmas crackers.

I hope you managed to set up your Christmas tree and had fun decorating it. I would love to see your tree pictures so do share it with me on social media. And finally, this will be my last post for this year and I hope to see you guys soon in the new year. Till then have a merry Christmas and a very happy New Year. Keep shining and stay fabulous.

Fashion & Style Gift Guide For Your Mom

Whether it’s your mum or your mother-in-law, it’s time to celebrate with your women troupe and thank them for all their love. To help you guys in choosing the right gift for your mum, I have had a good look at our high street fashion offerings and selected a few style-worthy things. Have a look at my fashion gift guide for your mum below and I hope you find some decent shopping suggestions:

  1. Glass jewellery box   – This vintage inspired gold glass jewellery box is ideal for storing trinkets and jewellery items. It can be kept on the dressing/side table to add some period charm to the living space.  Shop the box here.
  2. Leopard cashmere scarf – This is a timeless gift and leopard print will never go out of fashion. I recently came across Hush. I would say their collection is classy and very effortless. I had the opportunity to preview their new collection and was particularly impressed with their knitwear range. This scarf would be high on my list.
  3. A line midi skirt from M&S – Why not choose an A-line skirt for your mum this season. A-line skirt suits most body shapes and a modest midi length is very appropriate. Pair the skirt with kitten heels and a cream blouse for an instant smart outfit.
  4. Wool leather mix gloves – I bought these gloves few year back and highly recommend them. Its pure comfort and style combined into one.
  5. Jo Malone fragrance – Spoil your mum with some signature fragrances from Jo Malone. She deserves a little extra so go ahead and pamper her.
  6. Monica vinader pendant – This stunning simple necklace would suit most outfits and makes an ideal gift choice.
  7. Classic travel collection from Aspinal – Aspinal is a highly trusted British brand. They do some really nice travel accessories to keep you well organised on the go. The collection can be personalised with up to four initials – making it a very personal gift.
  8. Charlotte Tilbury lipstick –  Charlotte Tilbury is one of my favourite makeup brands and I would highly recommend their matte lipstick
  9. Velvet duffle bag – This is a very vintage inspired embroidered duffle bag. Carry with your evening looks and would suit both Indian and western wardrobes.
  10. Mulberry wallet – What’s not to love about a Mulberry wallet. A very classic design for everyday usage.

So go ahead and spoil your mum this festive season. She deserves that little extra.

The Pre Winter Coat Edit

Shop the look

I was dreading the approaching winter months in London because that means my coats have to come out of the closet. Sometimes I avoid wearing coats – they are heavy and bulky and restrict motion. Given a choice, I would love to spend my winters in just cosy and snug oversized jumpers.

In my desperate attempt to find a lightweight everyday coat, I came across this Dogtooth Boyfriend Coat from F&F. I love this coat for two reasons: firstly it’s extremely light, which means I do not have to feel restricted in my outfit. Secondly, I love the straight cut and tailored finish. It looks smart and the check print is very much on trend. This coat might not qualify as your essential winter coat but it is a good pre-winter coat.

How I styled it.

To feel extra snug in this coat, wear it with a good cashmere sweater. The high street is flooded with some very reasonable cashmere options. I have compiled a list of some cashmere jumpers from our high street – have a look at some of the best finds here.

To add colour to my look, I wore these amazing berry coloured boots from F&F. These boots add a dash of panache through colour. Do not miss my cute bag from Accessorize, which totally compliments my boots.

I had a quick look at what high-street shops are doing in the coat department and here are some of my favourite finds. I hope we all manage to get our coats ready in time for winters. Browse my coat edit here.

Keep snug this winter and happy shopping !!

Dress Love

If you follow me on insta stories, you would know that there is a Zara store next to my office. This means, my lunchtime routine involves checking out new arrivals at Zara. I would like to believe that some of my favourite wardrobe finds are from Zara and I shop there a lot. Over the past few years, I think I have become an avid Zara customer.

I do understand that Zara is fast fashion and is created to tempt us into buying more. But as a fashion lover, I tend to give into fast fashion buys sometimes. I invest in statement fast fashion pieces that I would wear again. One such choice I recently made is this beautiful silk embroidered dress from Zara. At the moment Zara is really championing embroidery trend on the high street. They have some really nice embroidered dresses for your holiday wardrobe.

I love the design and embroidery on this dress. The good thing is that you can dress it up or down depending on your mood. I would love to wear this dress with sneakers to create a very relaxed look. I wore the dress with my tan heels and a tan cross body bag from Next. I recently wore this dress on a bright sunny day and the look was highly appreciated. However, I must add that I felt hot in the dress and wished it had half sleeves. I would say it is not a good option to wear this dress on a hot summer day but perfect for a summer evening out.

Also, most of the summer sale offers are now online. I have curated a list of my top picks here. I hope you can get hold of your size. Good Luck!

My favourite summer top

As a Londoner, I eagerly wait for the summer months when I can get rid of my heavy coats and jackets. Who doesn’t love the Great British Summer!  It is the best time to be in London and explore the city to its fullest. London has so much to offer and even after living here for more than 10 years, I haven’t been able to explore it fully.

Summer calls for your new summer wardrobe, so today on the blog I am sharing my favourite summer tops of all times. This blue embroidered top is from Next and I am planning to spend my entire summer in it. I have styled this top in many different ways and I can’t get enough of it. I wear this top to work, I wear to school drop offs, I will wear it on my holiday…. I wear it everywhere. I have never been so excited about any other top than this one.  I love the material – 100% cotton, the embroidery on the sleeves, the tassels string at the neck… What’s not to love about this top? It also comes in red colour. You can shop the top here.

I styled the top with my ripped Zara jeans, black jollychic sandals and my favourite Charles Keith bag. You can wear this top with denim shorts or even dungarees for a more relaxed look.

I recently did a post on embroidered summer tops and this one was up on my list. If you didn’t get a chance to catch that post then read it here. Here are some more summer top ideas for you all.

What are you guys wearing this summer? What would be your favourite go to style? Do share your summer wardrobe with me here.
