Today’s post is a special one as I have teamed up with a fellow like-minded blogger, Ameeta, from Ayewanderful.com. Ameeta and I met at a blogging event where we shared our love for blogging. Like me, Ameeta also holds a full time job in the IT industry but does blogging to fulfill her creative aspirations. She writes a travel and lifestyle blog where she shares her passion for travel and discovering new places. While her blog focuses on travel and lifestyle and mine is about fashion/style, we both thought that by collaborating on a ‘Look and Location’ #looksandlocations series we will bring something unique to our readers. So finally we are ready with our very first “Looks and Location’ post.
Our first find is this cute little Parisian tea room near Bank Station called Laduree. Laduree is an ideal place to meet up for a quick coffee catch up after work. Best known for its macarons, Laduree is a French pastry/tea room place. There are a few branches dotted around London and I have heard that the Harrods branch is a must visit. The Bank branch is open till 8 pm, making it a perfect place for a quick catch up after work. Coffee shops do tend to close a bit early as most people prefer to go out for drinks after work. But if you are someone like me who prefers a coffee over drinks, then Laduree is a good option.
Laduree offers a range of macaron flavours, from coffee to raspberry to rose and more. I absolutely loved their macarons. I am not much of a macaron fan as I find them very sweet but these ones just melted in my mouth and weren’t too sweet.
Now let’s focus on our looks. I wore this printed summer dress from H&M. The dress is sleeveless so to make it more work appropriate, I teamed it up with a white crop top. I work in digital design, a creative industry. We have a casual dress code at work which gives me the flexibility to experiment with my looks. But casual dress code still needs to be work appropriate. This print dress seemed to be a decent choice to wear at work as well as for a quick coffee meetup. My accessories were very minimal – just my watch and ring. Ameeta also kept her look fairly relaxed. She wore a cute flower print skirt and teamed it up with a black top. She chose to accessorise it with a gold necklace from New Look. Both our looks had one common theme which was flower prints, making it appropriate for spring/summer.
