Trench Coat Spring Edit

Even though it was snowing last week and it is still quite cold in London, I can’t stop thinking about non-winter clothes. Spring means layered dressing.  The quintessential item for any spring wardrobe is the basic trench coat. It’s a classic piece of clothing and will never be out of trend. Spring dressing calls for light layers and a trench coat is ideal for layering outfits. If you are about to buy new outerwear for spring, then it has to be the trench coat. With the weather being so unpredictable, I am sure we all will need cover-ups till May/June.

Trench coats have stood the test of time. History tells me that the early trench coat was made from tough and hard-wearing fabric. The trench coat was used as an item of clothing by Army officers. It was designed to protect from wind and rain. They were not the warmest coats but they have a generous fitting and layers could be worn underneath them. It continues to be a fashion favourite and an iconic garment that can be seen on celebrities and catwalks around the world.

I had a good look around on our high street shops and came up with few on my favourites ways of wearing a trench coat.

Over your evening dress.

Out for some Spring/ Summer drinks with friends in London? Then why not team your evening dress with a trench to keep you warm and snug. You can also try different colours like soft blush pink shade to wear over dresses. Here are some blush pink trench coat suggestions.

Over your white denim

White denim can be quite tricky to style. But white denim and a classic trench coat is a fail-proof way to look effortless.

With your jeans and trainers

This could be your go to look for spring. A very classic everyday look. Pair your jeans with a trench coat and trainers. You can also take this look from desk to drink by wearing heels with your jeans and swapping your t-shirt with a silk/satin top.

Hope you enjoyed different ways of styling a trench coat. Here are a few trench coat options from the high street.
