One such exhibition on the way is London Luxe on the 19th & 20th of May at Grosvenor House, JW Marriott Hotel. This event is especially targeting the Asian audience in UK who are looking for Indo-western couture and Pret collections.
On the blog today we are talking about fashion entrepreneur Malika Jain and the driving force behind London Luxe. Coming from a family of successful business entrepreneurs, Mallika dreamt of creating new and effective business opportunities since her childhood. Mallika started her professional journey by managing the ladies division of Jainsons Tycoon (a leading garments store in New Delhi). She also went on to organize women-wear exhibitions in Embassies and five star hotels in the city. Having tasted success in the family business, Mallika decided to turn professional and explore and learn about international luxury brands and how they function in our country. She took up the position of Sales Director of an international luxury brand at DLF Emporio, New Delhi where she gained immense practical firsthand experience about the corporate world.
Given her keen interest, education and experience in fashion and lifestyle, she always dreamt of creating new and effective business opportunities for other established and upcoming designers and entrepreneurs in the similar space. It was this spirit that led her to launch Fashion Capsule.
Born and brought up in New York City, USA, Mallika hails from a very reputed Marwari family of Madhya Pradesh. She pursued Bachelor in Commerce from Jesus and Mary College, New Delhi. After her marriage into a Jain family of New Delhi, Mallika went on to study for her diploma in Fashion Retail Management from NIFT and also got a diploma in Merchandising. A firm believer of the karma theory, Mallika believes in doing her own bit for the society. She has been closely associated with Ankur and Laksyam which are NGOs working towards the welfare of underprivileged children.
Mallika is socially aware and active, and she strongly believes that women empowerment is the ability of women to exercise full control over their actions. She says
“I’ve come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that’s as unique as a fingerprint and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service,working hard and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you. A women is a full circle.Within her is the power to create,nurture and transform.”
