Last week I attended Aashni & Co press day with Manish Malhotra, where he unveiled his latest collection. The British Asian Trust, hosted an exclusive preview of the latest festive collection and he was announced as the brand ambassador of the charity at the event. It was a fantastic opportunity to come up close and personal with Bollywood’s go to designer. During the press meet he talked about this work, movies and his fashion journey. So Manish was this creative young boy who was not into studies but rather focused on other interesting things like modelling and Bollywood. He loved sketching and was obsessed with films. He started off by working in a boutique and really enjoyed interacting with clients on a daily basis. During his time there he got into making his own clothes. It so happened that Sridevi saw his work and he was invited to style her next shoot. There has been no looking back since then. He has now worked in big Bollywood movies and styled super stars. He actually introduced the concept of styling to Indian cinema. His next project was the launch of his own clothing line ten years back and now plans to open his standalone store in London. His story is very inspirational and I hope he continues to inspire us with his creations.
Manish’s latest collection is now available at Aashni & Co. Here is a little glimpse of what was on display. I spotted a lot of pinks with beautiful embroideries. The collection consisted of chikankari lehengas, kashmiri embroidery, sequence work and other intricate embroideries. I spotted gowns, saris, lehengas, suits and anarkalis on display. If you are planning for your big day then do have a look of his latest collection at Aashni & Co.
Here is my photo diary from the event. Hope you enjoyed reading my experiences.
