Summer has officially ended and autumn is knocking our door. But as the temperatures start to drop, the need to move our style to the cozier side of things is necessary. Autumn looks are right in the middle of transitioning from warm weather, to chilly. Layering gets crucial, colours get warmer and more dark. Many new trends came out for the upcoming season, giving us many ideas for inspiration. But the most important of all, is to incorporate them in your everyday wardrobe, blend them with your personal style and continue to be unique without losing yourself.

This autumn, allows us to use happy colours such as pink or yellow. That’s why in today’s look I chose a light pink mid-length skirt (which is obviously the star of the show). I combined it with simple, yet strong pieces that give the whole outfit a character.

A plain black top worn inside of the skirt, helps to highlight the beauty of it without interrupting the rest of the look. To top it off, I picked a black biker jacket, that balances perfectly the super feminine touch of the pink skirt and manages to toughen up the girly vibe. You can try this combo if you want to achieve an edgier style. I also added a beautiful black shoulder bag with chain strap detail and flat pointed shoes in a striped pattern. As for accessories, minimal is the way to go; the less the better. Concerning makeup, I kept it natural, classic and chic.

Mixing very feminine clothes with a masculine item like a biker jacket, is the best way to turn all your “too” girly pieces into more wearable ones. If you are afraid of skirts like the one I am wearing, through on a jacket borrowed from the boys department and you are good to go. This combination will surely give you a lot of confidence. No need to think this just for skirts though. It works for your blouses too. For example, if you own a girly top and want to create a different approach to your outfit, put some smart trousers underneath and it will look amazing.

So what’s your favourite combination? Let me know and stay beautiful!

For this post I tried different location other than my back garden. Lovely photography by my very talented friend  Photography-by Roshni
