Five days full of fashion madness have finally come to an end. Another year and another fun fashion week is over. One of the most stylish cities in the world hosted London Fashion Week SS15 to showcase a range of design talent from across the globe. From the big fashion houses to discovering new talent, London Fashion Week had it all. Attending Fashion Week fills me with excitement as a fashion enthusiast, and I love this buzz. I spent day one discover some new talent and attending some brilliant fashion shows. Here is a list of shows I experienced on Day 1.
JAMIE WEI HUANG
Jamie’s SS15 collection is inspired on a basic idea of the human existence within urban society. SS15 collection takes the fundamentals of a variety of sporting uniform and equipment varying from bicycle bags, skiwear and basketball shorts. A fascinating contrast when combined with elements that are inspired from industry professions such as the ‘London banker’ Here a are few of my favourite pieces from the collection.
The Ones To Watch
One to watch provides a platform for the brightest emerging designers to take part in a collaborative showcase. This year the panel selected the following: Cassandra Verity Green, Keiko Nishiyama, Min Wu and Youjia Jin. Here are a few of my favorites from the show.
Bernard Chandran
Bernard Chandran’s Spring / Summer 15 collection entitled ‘Venus in the Daytime’ is for the ‘Urban Goddess’, which has been inspired greatly by the classic technique of Madame Gres. Bernard Chandran’s new collection uses Madame Gres’ traditional silk jersey alongside a mixture of leather, lace, cotton, silk and cork that adds a modern twist to the classical antiquity of the flat pleat.
Hema Kaul
For the third season running, Hema Kaul is presenting at London Fashion Week. Her latest collection is entitled ‘La vie en rose – Life is pink’. Printed organza, French tulle and stunning lace are all incorporated with an infusion of soft pastels including lilac, mint, baby blue and pink hues alongside refreshing splashes of bright sorbet colours. Few of my favorites from the show.
After these shows I also squeezed in a Anamika Khanna exhibition in London. Now I know why fashionista Sonam Kapoor loves her clothes. Her designs and her dhoti drapes are to die for. Such a focus on cuts and drapes makes her clothes stand out. She now goes on my wishlist of designer outfits.
Finally this is what I wore on day 1

London Fashion Week Day 2
After the running around on Day 1, I didn’t have much energy left for day 2. Day 2 was spent in the ever so beautiful Somerset house. The atmosphere was simply buzzing with excitement. An army of who’s who in the fashion industry flocked the Somerset house courtyard. I spent my time browsing the latest design collections and meeting other industry professionals. I was also introduced to this lovely brand called Mochi – their work is inspired from ethnic cities around the world. Again this one goes on my wish list of designer buys. Here is my photo diary from Day2

So that was my London Fashion Week Experience. By the end of it, I was so tired that all I needed was my duvet and hot chocolate. For now let’s wait for the next fashion week. Till then keep shining.
Fabulous images, and your outfits are fantastic. I love the Hema Kaul collection, just so feminine.
