Velvet Crush

Guess what is making a comeback this winter? Yes ladies, velvet is very much on trend this season and making a huge comeback. It is such a rich fabric and always gives the outfit a very regal look. Since many celebrities and top fashion bloggers are sporting this trend, I thought it would be appropriate to talk about my favourite velvet high street finds. This year velvet has suddenly become the ‘in’ thing and is back in every fashion-forward-girl’s wardrobe. I have done a quick recce of what’s available on our high street and managed to find some jewels.

My first find is this royal velvet pleated a-line midi skirt from M&S. This is a perfect day-to-evening choice. Wear it with a cashmere jumper during the day and then pair it with a black lace cami and blazer for an evening look. The skirt comes in a choice of four colours so do have a look.

Let’s now talk about velvet blazers. There are so many velvet blazer options available on the high street now, and one of my favourite finds is this green velvet blazer from Monsoon. I love the cropped sleeves and padded shoulder – it creates a very smart look. If you are not much of a risk taker then try it in black, and pair it with a silk blouse and denim. If you want to make a statement, then go with the green.

My next find is this velvet palazzo trouser. This would be a good addition to your winter wardrobe. Pair this trouser with a silk cami or shirt to create an effortless look.

  • Velvet dress

If you love wearing dresses then you would appreciate this beauty – a cutout velvet dress. The sapphire blue colour is appropriate for the party season. For a formal office party, this would be an ideal choice. Team the dress with pearls or diamond accessories to create an elegant party look.

Hope you enjoyed my velvet trend finds from the high street. See some more velvet trend options here.
