This project is really special to me. It’s my little girl’s nursery, the most important room of our house. I was fortunate to have a small box room in our new house, which we decided to convert into Meera’s (my daughter) nursery. I decided to keep the furniture base colour white and let the accessories do all the colour talking. To accessorise the walls I used a tree wall sticker next to the cot. We managed to frame Meera’s handprints and footprints. I used the narrow wall next to the window to hang the prints and add a personal touch. I used white planks to break the flatness of white walls. The decorative accessories on one of the planks are very personal and special to me. In our culture when a baby is born families gift silver ornaments and I managed to get hold of the silver ornaments gifted to Meera’s dad and created a cute little display of beautiful sliver things. I love the idea of hanging cute little clothes in a nursery so I created a focal point in the room by hanging few of her clothes on a wooden baby clothes hanger. This area is my personal favourite. A pink and purple tartan print ceiling lamp shade, multi-coloured rug , stripped curtains, vintage flower print cot sheet, mini cushions cot bumpers and cute cot pockets add a splash of colour to room. To me this room is full of Love and invites you in to play. I hope this rooms grows with Meera and give her that peaceful space to learn, grown and unwind.
