If you follow me on Instagram, you would know that I was away for a few weeks in sunny California. California is one of my top travel destinations as I have family and very close friends there. I find California very relaxed and far away from the fast paced city life of London. This holiday was more about catching up with friends and family but we did make a trip to Santa Barbara. In Santa Barbara we spent a couple of days in a family-friendly resort to unwind before we head back to London.
If you are traveling with kids, you need to pack hassle free outfits and basic accessories that you can reuse. On the blog today, I am featuring this maxi dress and block heel shoes kindly gifted to me by JD Williams. Since I had some time on hand, I tried to wear some dressy outfits in the evenings. I wore this maxi dress one evening while strolling down the resort. The retro look of this dress creates a very 70’s feel. The ruffles at the top are very much on trend this season. I chose to accessorise the Maxi with a tribal Zara necklace from last year’s collection. I paired it with a statement tribal necklace. Sometimes pairing unique styles can create statement looks, so always experiment with accessories and clothes.
Now let’s talk about the shoes. I generally shy away from wearing heels when I am with kids but these block heels were really comfortable. I am wide footed and the sandals had a very generous fitting. The silver band in front of the shoe helps to glam up the look without making it look too dazzling.
This look was quite easy to carry and I would definitely wear it again to my next holiday or for a relaxed evening out. I hope you got some styling ideas from this post. If you need any personal suggestions on how you can style your maxi dress better, then do email me. Over the next few weeks, I will try and share some of my other holiday looks.Till then, be fabulous.
