With the run up to Valentine’s Day, my inbox is bombarded with valentine’s day gift suggestions, what to wear on Valentine’s and other marketing messages. Sometimes such a hype forces you to do something for your partner or husband, but to be honest I don’t believe in the idea of Valentine’s Day. To me it’s more of a marketing gimmick. However there is a flip side to this, the idea of Valentine’s does makes you think how you can make your loved one feel special. With this intention in mind I plan to share my today’s blog post and demonstrate how you can use simple craft and décor items available in your home to make your husband, partner or boyfriend feel special this Valentine’s.
What could be better than expressing your love through flowers. Roses are my favorite and with the onset of spring, a bunch of pink and white roses can instantly freshen up your home. Even if you do not plan to do anything special this Valentine’s make sure you buy some flowers for your loved one and if you want to go a step further, surprise them by getting them delivered to their work place.
To create my first Valentine display, I simply used bright pink wrapping paper, rustic rope and some roses. Simply wrap a small gift using bright pink tissue paper or normal wrapping paper (pink tissue paper’s better) and tie it with a rustic rope. The beauty of this idea lies in how you present the gift. Below are some ideas.

I strongly believe that way through a man’s heart is through his stomach. You could cook your loved one favorite food and enjoy a cozy night in. For young parents like us it’s the best solution but do remember to add some special touches to your night in. I do understand that you all have busy lifestyles as working processionals so I have a cheat option for you – don’t cook dinner, just make the dessert. Which is what I plan to do – I’ll make Kheer (Indian rice pudding) and serve it in a very romantic fashion using rose petals.
These are few simple ideas to make your Valentine’s Day special. So if you don’t have any big plan for the night then do enjoy you cozy night it. Just remember to make it a bit special for your loved one.
Colour is always a great way to dress anything I believe, especially Valentine’s Day! I love your photos!
Thanks Erika
