Recently I had the opportunity to attend a fashion event showcasing Simon Ekrelius’ label. Special thanks to Carly Brook for suggesting my name for the event. The collection was called MONOCHROMATIC, inspired by model and photographer Lee Miller.
Monochrome is one of my favorite trends – it’s stylish and will never go out of fashion. Simon’s Autumn Winter 2014/15 collection feature a selection of dresses, skirts , top jackets and jumpsuits. The collection focuses on simple symmetrical tailoring in monochrome colors. There is an element of drama in each look, different textures including, silk, vinyl, poly blends and cotton canvas are consumed to create classic looks. Using shades of black and white, Simon has created print-free tailored wardrobe. Overall the collection oozes perfection, attention to details and love for tailoring.
The event was held at The Rag Factory in the heart of East London – the creative cluster of London. I have been working in East London since the past four years and this place never ceases to surprise me. It’s the creative and digital hub in London, attracting new startups and numerous creative agencies. It was my first exclusive fashion event since the inception of The Red Notebook and I really enjoyed admiring Simon’s latest collection. Here are a few of my favorites from the evening.
Thanks
