Where To Buy Indian Wear In London

“Where can I buy nice Indian clothes in London?” I get asked this question so often. So I decided to do a full blog post on it and share my personal experience. Before I started my blog, I always bought my Indian wardrobe during my annual trips to India. Personally, I did not know where to buy Indian outfits in London. There have been a few occasions where I had to attend an Indian event and had nothing in my wardrobe that would fit. I have also rushed to Green Street on some desperate occasions. But now after being in the Asian fashion circle in London and having explored unique brands at various shows and exhibitions, I have a trusted list of recommended brands:

Shyamal & Bhumika available at Aashni & Co wedding show

Aashni & CoAashni & Co has really championed the Asian fashion scene in London. From hosting three successful weddings shows to hosting exclusive designer events at their flagship store in London, they have created a very useful platform for the Indian diaspora in London. With the launch of their new website, their ready-to-wear pret range is now easily accessible to the UK audience. They stock a range of designers and recently revamped their pret range. Have a look at their website and I am sure you won’t be disappointed. Also, do not miss out on their annual wedding show taking place in Somerset House. Buy your tickets here.

Lehenga by Jyoti Chandhok

Jyoti Chandhok – Jyoti’s studio in North London is a hidden gem in the Asian fashion industry in London. I have had the opportunity to work and collaborate with Jyoti on a professional basis and it has been a pleasure to promote her creations. Half of my Indian wardrobe is now from Jyoti Chandhok’s designs. I have worn her clothes on various professional and personal engagements and I swear by the quality of her work. She focuses on pure fabrics, handcrafted embroideries, and timeless designs that never go out of fashion. If you are interested in a timeless Indian outfit, then do pay a visit to her studio.

Astha Narang now available at Este Couture

Este Couture – I have been to Este Couture a couple of times and had the opportunity to meet a few Bollywood actresses dressed in clothing from Este Couture designer range. They stock bridal wear and pret ranges. One of my favourite designer, Astha Narang, is now available at Este Couture. Have a look at their website here

Lavanya London

Lavanya London – Lavanya is my secret find. I discovered them through a recommendation and keep following their updates on Instagram. I love what I see on their feed and would definitely recommend that you pay a visit and see their beautiful work.

Amrika – Finally on the list we have an Indo-Western fashion retailer! Previously, Amrika had a private appointment-based showroom, located in the heart of Mayfair, but recently launched their online store, which offers worldwide shopping from the very best luxury designers. Amrika offers contemporary, chic and easy-wearing looks which can be worn in traditional sets or as separates and ultimately combine western styles with Indian sensibilities

A couple of other brands I would recommend are:

  • Shreedesignz: they stock some beautiful and not-so-ornate Indianwear. Have a look at one of their designs which I own here.
  • BiBi London: I would recommend BiBi’s London flagship store for heavy bridal wear designs. I have personally visited their store and you can read all about it here.

Through my blog, I have explored some new and upcoming brands in London and I regularly share my find on my social channels and event review blog posts. For all my fashion updates you can follow me on Instagram.
