Winter dressing can be quite tricky, specially if you are someone like me who is not a big fan of heavy winter coats. During this year’s winter sale I was on a mission to find something light and warm but everything I liked was either sold out or not available in my size. Having spent my annual budget on winter sales, I decided to hold on to my shopping reins and search from the plethora of clothes in my wardrobe. Today I’ll be sharing my winter outfit idea and show how you can bring in some fun to your grey winter wardrobe.
The above look works for many occasions – you can wear it to a weekend lunch outing, day out in London West-end and even to work (depending on what dress policy you have – I work in a design agency so it would work in my office environment). To create this look I teamed up a blue geometric print GAP shirt with a bright pink GAP jumper. At first I was bit reluctant to buy this colour but it’s always nice to experiment and create your individual style. I paired the pink jumper and shirt with my lovely dark skinny jeans from Dorothy Perkins. I just love these skinny jeans of mine as they go pretty much with everything. If you have a pear body shape like mine then it’s always better to choose dark coloured bottoms like navy or black. If you want to move away from drab winter coats then layering is key. My top recommendation would be Heat Tech tops from UNIQLO – just love the fabric as its very light yet keeps you warm and toasty.
One of my great fashion finds of last year is this fur jacket from H&M. I just bought it as a light autumn winter jacket but was surprised to discover how warm it was. During the milder winter months I could go outside just wearing the jacket with a scarf. For my layered look I teamed up this fur jacked with the bright pink jumper.
Now let’s style with accessories. I choose my silver statement necklace, which I received as a gift from Monsoon accessories (for the Bling it on competition). The necklace goes well with the geometric print shirt without jarring the overall look. Ankle boots worn with warm woollen socks from GAP and iPhone friendly gloves finally complete the winter look.
