If you were a regular reader of my blog, you would probably know that I adore Warehouse fashion brand. I would actually describe myself as a hoarder of Warehouse clothes and accessories. But since it’s not feasible to splurge on the latest collection every month, it’s great to treat yourself with a sale bargain. Today’s blog is about how I styled my £12 sale bargain black midi dress from Warehouse.
I always get excited when Warehouse goes on sale, simply because it’s a great opportunity to find trendy, well-designed pieces at half the price. But you have to be lucky to find your desired size. One quick tip while shopping during sale – look for classic pieces which will stay in your wardrobe for long. Where possible avoid fast fashion purchases during sale as they will have a limited shelf life. During this year’s mid-season sale I managed to grab this pretty vintage inspired piece from Warehouse. It’s a very delicate chiffon midi dress with lace insets at the shoulders and a lace drop hem. The hem lace is a bit high so it can be worn with black tights during winters. I wore it without tights on a fresh spring day and this is how I styled it.
I styled the dress with this modern imitation leather handbag from H&M. This handbag is my latest find and is simply stunning. It’s compact but can serve the purpose of a day bag. I carried it to office the other day and it smoothly transitioned from a functional day bag to a glam evening handbag. H&M is also one of my favourite high street brands. To be honest, I am not a very brand conscious shopper (just because I can’t afford it ha,ha..). I pick up things that appeal to my design buds so whether they are from my local high street shop or an online designer boutique, it really doesn’t matter. I am not on the lookout to buy the latest bag from Prada or Mulberry but I do keep a tab on their latest collections to get inspiration for my work. If one day I am able to afford these brands I will definitely invest in some key pieces for their design and craftsmanship.
The accessories
I wore this delicate Oliver Bonas Leaf Charm Triple Bangle, gifted to me at the styling event this month. I paired it up with my favourite forever 21 bracelet to create a stacked up jewelry look.
Here is another way of wearing the same dress depending on what the weather is like (ideal solution for the unpredictable London weather). Add a blazer to your outfit like I have done here for cooler days and evenings and rock out with the same outfit again.
PS: on a side note I saw this picture of Kareena Kapoor Khan online and looks like we shared a fashion moment here, wearing similar dresses! But hers is from Osman Yousefzada! What are you wearing this spring? Drop me a line and do share your outfit ideas below.
