This past month I have been working behind the scenes to curate a lookbook for a new and upcoming designer, Jara Wine. I met Jara at London Fashion Week and we started talking about our individual creative ventures. I can very well relate to Jara’s story as she was in PR and marketing before, and has now left her plush job to do what she absolutely loves – designing clothes. I am pleased to announce my styling collaboration with Jara where I have selected a few key pieces from her collection and styled them to fit my, and hopefully yours too, everyday lifestyle.
Styling the Julia Cycle Dress
This is Jara’s first collection and it’s limited edition so only a few pieces per design are available for purchase. All of her clothes are designed by her and produced in London itself. You can view her limited collection online here. If you look at her collection it gives you a very girly and feminine feel. Even though my style isn’t very girly, it is feminine. When Jara showcased her collection to me I instantly liked the cycle print silk chiffon dress. I created a modern feminine look with the cycle print dress and I hope I have managed to achieve it.
Create the look
What a difference pure silk chiffon makes to the touch and feel of a fabric! The fabric of this dress is extremely lightweight and feels like feather on your skin. Since it’s a printed dress with a beautiful neck bow, I wanted to minimise the accessories and keep it simple. To create my desired modern feminine look, I wore the dress with metallic tip berry court shoes from Reiss (if you remember I have also used these shoes for my monochrome look last year). All my other accessories were silver.
In this look I am wearing a distressed silver vintage purse along with silver rings, silver watch and bracelet from my personal collection. This is a very summery outfit that you can wear to a semi formal day event, summer garden party, to the races or to a girly baby shower.
